Winner sedex Best Collaborative Effort

Dutjahn Sandalwood Oils was humbled to be awarded “Best Collaborative Effort” at the 2019 Sedex Responsible Business Awards.

The Awards highlight best practice projects from Sedex’s thousands of global members to improve working conditions and the environment in global supply chains.

“All entries were shortlisted based upon their level of innovation, scale of impact and implementation, possibility of replication and transparency of communication,” said Simon McCalla, CEO of Sedex.

Dutjahn caught the attention of judges with its fairer returns to Indigenous people and the ethical partnership between Indigenous custodians and Australian sandalwood (Santalum spicatum) cultivators to preserve the species.

Dutjahn was also a key note speaker at the Sedex Conference 2019, speaking about the importance of empowering Indigenous communities through business to achieve the UN SDGs.
